This weekend my parents and I ventured out to Homestead Florida with SKUSA at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex, to run KA100 Jr.

Overall, it was an okay weekend but also disappointing, on my part. I had a lot of fun learning a new track and it is one of my favorite tracks, but I didn’t do so good there. The track may look easy but it was very hard, I could never seem to figure out what everyone else was doing to keep up to pace all weekend long.

We struggled in practice Friday to gain more speed, which was due to me mostly.

Saturday I didn’t qualify so great, by not great I mean like 17th and 1.4 seconds off pace. I was very disappointed in myself, because I know I can do so much better than that. Prefinal came around and I started 17th and went to about 14th on the start, which I would do good on the starts and move up about 4-5 spots, but I struggled the entire race to keep pace and I would just go back further, which always put me back to where I started in the race. In the final I started 17th again finished the race in 16th, after getting up to 14th. Like I said I do so good at the beginning and just fall off because my mind just overthinks how to be faster than the driver in front of me to pass them, which causes me to mess up. I just didn’t do as good as I expected myself to do.

Sunday comes around and warmup was dry, but it was starting to rain. Once the rain came it did its monsoon thing, which put us on a 30-minute delay. My qualifying session was in the rain where I qualified 23rd, which totally sucked because something just seemed off. Prefinal time and my head was in the game to get in the top 10, it was raining.

I had an amazing start where I went from 23rd to 15th on the start and got as low as 14th, but my kart slowly kept going away and getting slower, which caused me to finish 17th. Come to find out there was water in my motor, and it just about shut off on me during the race on the straight, so I had what I had.

Final time comes around and I was ready, track a little dryer, I was determined to do good. I started 17th, I again got as far up as 14th on the start, by lap 7 the same thing happened where I was under driving the kart, which made me so slow through the corners. I was letting my mind get the best of me in the race, which caused me to slow myself down. I finished the race in 17th, which was no increase in positions, and I didn’t get any faster throughout the race.

I know I am in the learning phase of junior right now and still trying to figure out the terminology and how it translates to Junior vs. the Mini Swift, such as brake less, go deeper in, don’t underdrive, don’t overdrive, and more I am sure I am missing.

My mind just wasn’t in it 100%, I learned a lot this week about the track, but didn’t finish how I expected OR where I would see myself finishing. I know at the next race I need to work much harder and listen to my dad, because I quickly learned this weekend that not listening to him and my coach, caused me to suffer.

Thank you to my dad for everything you do for me and my kart to help me on/off the track, my mom for all the support you have provided to me, Ashley Rogero on the coaching this weekend that I listened to but just didn’t utilize on the track and for Comet Engines for the fast engine that had great power as always.

I would like to thank all my sponsors for putting their trust in me no matter what.

I have been recently asked, why do I race and what do I love about it?

You think it would be a quick question to answer, it’s not that I don’t know why I race, it’s the many reasons why.

I could probably write a book on why I race and what I love about it, but I won’t go into all of that today.

First question is Why do I race? Well, the main reason is because I love it, plain and simple, but I won’t stop there. I race because it has always been a passion of mine to become a f1 driver. From the first day I went to Mid-Ohio with my dad to watch his driver he crewed for, Jack Ruscilli, who raced for the SCCA series, I knew racing was for me. All the different types or race cars, the smell of the gasoline when they were revving up the engines, the sound of the engines and how fast they go on the track, I just dreamed of one day that being me on the track someday.

Another reason I race is because I am an adrenaline junkie when it comes to going fast. When I was 2 years old my dad bought me my first 4-wheeler, I was on that thing every day. Over time my dad and I would buy more ATV’s and dirt bikes to fill our adrenaline fix.

That feeling when you are going as fast as 70+mph, the wind in your face down the straights or when your about to make a hard pass on someone, that feeling is the feeling I enjoy the most.

I love to race go karts because I like the different tracks, configurations and circuits that are ran. I raced quarter midgets at one point but going left all the time just wasn’t interesting to me. I am a circuit racing kind of kid. I like the change, the thinking you have to do, the passing you have to figure out and just in general the different tracks and different states I get to travel to with my family.

Being in the racing industry you get to also meet a lot of different types of drivers such as Indy car drivers and Nascar Drivers. This is a benefit of racing go karts because you get to meet famous drivers that just love doing what you love to do. So far I have got to meet Kyle Larson Racing, Kevin Harvick, Josef Newgarden, Jay Howard, Danica Patrick and Will Power.

Winning is another reason I love racing and why I do it, which I am pretty sure that is what everyone loves about racing. I have won my fair share of championships, pole awards and trophies that fill up my whole living room, literally. When I don’t win races, or know I am not doing my best, I do beat myself up about it and get upset, because I want it so bad. If I didn’t get upset about it then my passion really wouldn’t exist now, would it?

My dad being my #1 role model is another reason I love racing. Since I could talk, my dad taught me all about cars and race cars. There wasn’t a weekend that went by that we were not somewhere that involved a race car or a fast car of some sort. My dad used to race his STI when I was younger, but once I turned 4 he put his focus on me, which I appreciate every day for everything he has done for me to help me succeed. Without my dad guiding me on my way, I wouldn’t be where I am today in racing. Not that I don’t appreciate my mom, because I do. She supports my dream physically, emotionally, and financially. The moments we spend together at the racetrack as a family even if we are happy, upset, or arguing, they are still the moments I will cherish forever.

I want to be a good role model to others as my dad and Jack were for me, as a racer. I want to be able to help others become a good racer, and to show them the ropes on the track, that is what I enjoy most. There are some weekends that we will go to New Castle Motorsports Park and I will do a lead to follow with other young drivers. I help them learn their line, where to brake and not to brake,

Racing has always had a place in my heart because it has been something I enjoy doing. I look forward to racing my Miata once I turn 13 in June this year, where I will take the skills, I learned in go karting and transfer them to the race car. I am prepared to train and work hard each day to be the best racer I can be, so I can see myself at the Mid-Ohio track racing like my dad and Jack once did.

I am Aryton Grim and I am a 12 year old race car driver out of Ohio, who is looking for sponsors to join my team for the 2022 racing season and beyond!

I have been involved in the racing world since I could walk and talk. My dad would take me to Mid-Ohio where he would help crew for a driver, where I picked up my first love of racing.

At 4 years old my dad bought me my first go kart, where I was only able to practice since I was so young. At 5 years old I started to race at Circleville Ohio which then took us to New Castle Indiana at New Castle Motorsports Park, where there was more competition. Over the years my family and I started to travel allover to give me more driving experience at different tracks, which helped me improve my racing skills.

Just to sum the rest up and not bore you too much here is a little history on my racing. 2014 and very first season I was the Kid kart rookie of the year, 2015 2nd runner up at kid kart nationals, 2017 won my first Grand National 206 race, 2018 runner up in Micro Swift championship, 2019 I was the all-time National Micro Swift champion with USPKS and 206 Grand National winner for the 2nd time, 2020 I was the 206 Cadet and Mini Champion at New Castle Motorsports Park and runner up at 206 Grand Nationals, 2021 wasn’t very eventful with COVID but I managed to pull off a 14th place spot out of 62 drivers in the 206 Junior class at the Grand Nationals for the first JR race and I got my first Junior podium at a regional series, which I thought was pretty impressive for me for my first few times in the Jr kart.

I am looking for businesses and brands that I can advertise and represent on my junior go karts, Miata race car and racing apparel. I have posted my karting schedule on my website and below, but my Miata schedule is still pending. My Miata schedule should be available once I am able to obtain my license after June of this year. After I obtain my license I plan to travel to different tracks for test days to prepare me for the 2023 racing season.

With this sponsorship you will not only be allowing me to live my dream but your also allowing me to help you advertise your brand and business wherever we go. Your contribution will be helping me pay for the cost of licensing fees for the Miata, entry fees for my National and Regional kart races, tires and gas cost, maintenance costs for my engines, safety gear to stay up to safety standards to keep me safe and so much more.

No dollar amount is too small!

On my website you can also find my detailed racing resume along with a list of my current continuing sponsors that have supported me throughout my journey to become the driver I am today.

I thank you for your consideration and hope that you will allow me to represent your company in the upcoming racing season!

(Go Kart Schedule below. Subject to change overtime with more races being added)

You can send me a message on my Facebook page

OR send an email to grimracing21@gmail.com

Thank you for your consideration!
