ARYTON IS COMING HOME WITH HIS FIRST WIN IN 206 JUNIOR!

This past weekend I got to try out my new 206 Jr Nitro leftie Go kart for the first time, which I can say was a success.

My buddy Eli Warren and I had a great race! I led for a little and then Eli led, then we drafted the rest of the race and I was able to pass him with 4 corners to go to the checkered flag. We had a great side by side finish with me capturing the win by .083 seconds. I am really proud of the results after being in the Jr Nitro leftie kart for the first time and would highly recommend it as YOUR 206 junior kart!

KA100 JR class was another animal to deal with this weekend. Was running a used but new to me kart which seemed to run great. Went out for practice and had my bumper dragging the entire time, so that didn’t help anything. I would have qualified 5th if I had my transponder on that is, with me running a 1.00.88 lap time and only getting 2 laps in out of 3. Normally your 3rd lap is always your faster lap, but I didn’t get that lap in due to almost missing qualifying.

Right before the final, it decided to pour rain but it dried up in enough time for race time.

Had a great start in the final went from 9th to 6th in the first few corners, headed into the score board turn for a pass on 5th place, when the driver in front of me saw me and decided that he wanted that spot more than me. I saved myself from spinning out and was able to get back on the track before I lost a lot of time. I was back in 9th place; I kept pushing and running faster lap times each lap, which helped me finish out the race in 6th place. I was .073 seconds from 5th place but I didn’t have enough momentum to pass at the checkered flag. I did get my personal best lap time of 59.923 seconds!

I am pretty proud of my results this weekend in both junior classes, especially for being a rookie in both classes and being on 2 different and bigger chassis’ that I am not used to. In the cadet class you have a smaller chassis, not so wide and not so heavy. In cadet your weight is from 245lbs to 265lbs and in junior you have to weigh 320lbs.

With me being as small as I am, can you imagine the amount of weight that my dad has to add to my kart?

Next race is at Commercial Point Karting Classic street race that is located about 20 minutes for my house. I will be racing with my old kid kart crew from Circleville Raceway Park, in the 206 junior class. It should be a lot of fun with my friends, good music and some awesome racing.
