NEW CASTLE CLUB RACE- DOUBLE HEADER JUNE 11TH-12TH

This weekend we ventured out for New Castle's double header race. Friday was practice day, Saturday and Sunday were race days.

Friday my dad took out my X30 Sr and tried to help me on track, but my motor decided it wasn't going to cooperate so I had to end my day early. Comet was nice enough to get me a different motor Saturday morning so that I could race.

Saturday was a nice day, not too hot not too cold. We got 1 practice, qualifying, prefinal and final. In qualifying we were struggling to find the correct tire pressure and setup with the new chassis, so we qualified 4th, finished the prefinal 3rd and the final I finished 5th. So not the best day but also not the worst.

Sunday we woke up with track wet, after a long night of rain. We got to do a different configuration and we only got 2 practice sessions on it before qualifying. I was still struggling to find speed practice and qualifying, but was able to find some speed in the final. I started the final in 4th, the weather conditions were on and off rain. The juniors were much faster than the Seniors that we would catch them throughout the race. I got to the lead but a senior kart decided they weren't going to try to hold the outside on me in

turn 3, thinking I was another SR driver, which slowed me down and allowed the other kart to catch me from behind. My tires went away for the rest of the race but I was able to hold on to 2nd place.

Next up is Gingerman the weekend of my 13th birthday in South Haven, MI, where I will be doing my first HPDE class with NASA in my Miata.
