Aryton is up for any opportunity that is given to him to continue doing what he loves to do, racing. He will be competing around the United States with the Gridlife, SCCA, NASA and much more.
Aryton Grim is a 15-year-old race driver from Hilliard, Ohio. Aryton’s goal is to win races and championships at the highest levels of North American racing; the IMSA sports car series, the IndyCar series, and the Indianapolis 500. Aryton made a smooth transition from a very successful kart racing career to racing cars and has shown great potential to achieve his racing goals.
In 2013, Aryton began practicing in his first go kart which was a Birel Chassis and comer 50cc engine at Circleville Raceway Park. Aryton progressed from there and started officially racing in 2014 where he obtained rookie of the year. He started traveling to different tracks in 2015, and in his rookie season he was named Kid kart champion at New Castle Motorsports Park and finished 2nd at the Kid Kart Nationals.
2016 was Aryton’s first year participating in national-level competition and he finished the season with an impressive 2nd in the WKA Kid Kart class. In 2017 Aryton decided to move up to 206 Cadet and was named the Grand National Champion, along with finishing out the season with 15 podiums and a 4th place season points finish at New Castle. 2018 Aryton moved into the Micro Swift class at the regional level and was able to finish out the year with an impressive 2nd in the Route 66 Micro swift class.
2019 saw major progress with 9 National wins, 12 podiums, named USPKS National Champion in the Micro Swift class and was the Grand National champion in 206 Cadet. In 2020 and 2021, Aryton continued his ascent on the national karting scene with several podiums and wins throughout. His season highlights were winning the 206 Cadet and Micro Swift championship, moved up to the junior ranks, 1st KA Jr and 206 Jr win, and Vice 206 Grand National Champion in 206 Cadet.
2022 was a pivotal season for Aryton as he made the major transition from racing karts to cars. Focusing on his transition, Aryton ran a limited number of races, but in those few races he finished out in the top 5.
In cars, Aryton gained some great experience obtaining his competition license at a young age of 13, where he ran with NASA completing around 20 races from July to December. Aryton earned the Driver of the year award from NASA Great Lakes, being the youngest driver to earn such an award, which was a great accomplishment. Aryton finished out his Spec Miata season winning his 1st endurance race and earning his first top 5 finish at Sebring International Raceway.
Most notably in 2023, Aryton competed with NASA Great Lakes and earned himself the Teen Mazda Championship. He also completed the Spec Miata season championship in 3rd place overall among 20 other drivers, was the top Teen Mazda driver at the NASA National event, Named the most improved driver with NASA, earned 5 Spec Miata wins, 1 pole award and 8 Podiums in his first official racing season. Aryton was also nominated to apply for a scholarship among 50 other drivers for the Mazda Shootout, which was a major milestone.
In 2024, Aryton competed in several events with SCCA, NASA, ChampCar, and Gridlife that earned him 10 wins, 30 podiums, and 2 track records. During that year Aryton also explored different types of motorsports such as a Ford Mustang with Low Country Motorsports at the Champcar event at Sebring where they placed 3rd overall in class, a Rush SR with Gridlife where he placed 2nd in his first race ever, and a Gridlife touring car, 2006 Mazda MX5 with 220hp, that him and his dad built together.
His goals for 2025 are to improve in the Spec MX-5 and aim for the top step at the SCCA Pro Tour events, be competitive in the Gridlife GLTC class in his turbo car and explore different types of motorsports when given the opportunity to do so.
When Aryton is not racing you can find him doing photography of cars and aviation, working at his dad’s Auto repair shop working on race cars or spending time with his family and friends.
